Toyota is working to launch a new C-MPV with Maruti Suzuki. This is the first car Toyota is offering to Maruti Suzuki i.e. Innova Hycross opening up the doors for the homegrown brand to enter the segment. This C-MPV is expected to sit below Innova Crysta in terms of positioning.
Toyota is testing the new Innova hybrid, which is scheduled to featured globally in Indonesia in November 2022. It is expected to be launched in Indian market in early 2023. Expecting to be called the Toyota Innova Hycross, the new model will be sold alongside with the existing Innova Crysta.
As it is launching with Maruti Suzuki, Maruti Suzuki’s version is likely to have some changes in terms of re-styled front and rear designs, different alloys and new interior design as well.
It will be offered with two engine options – a 2.0L petrol and a 2.0L petrol hybrid.
The company could use Indian version of the THS II (Toyota Hybrid System II) that consists of a dual-motor setup for high ‘step-off’ torque and fuel efficiency as per plan. The new model will be manufactured at Toyota’s Bidadi based plant.

the new Innova Hycross will be based on a new, monocoque platform with front wheel drive setup. Company will not going to manufacture the Diesel Engine variant vehicle.

The Innova Hycross is expected to be priced from around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). In the case of Maruti, its rebadged product will be its flagship model in India.
The brands have launched models like the Urban Cruiser, Glanza and more recently the Grand Vitara and Urban Cruiser Hyryder as part of the deal.
